Klaus Eiperle started his near 30 year computing career with a screwdriver -- disassembling his Commodore VC 20. Having quickly learned the "mechanics" of the computer, he started programming in Basic and, subsequently, in Assembler. He took up video in the mid-80s, forming his own company, Eiperle CGM, in 1992 to produce video, 3D-animation, and software. Klaus created the CGM DVE Vol.1 for MovieShop in 1998, and three months after acquiring his first Apple computer, he produced the first version of the CGM DVE Vol.1+ for Final Cut Pro in 2000.

In Autumn 2001, Klaus was invited to the States to present CGM's plug-in visual effects for Final Cut Pro at the School of the Arts in Hollywood. Amongst the many present in the HDTV cinema that evening were representatives from Disney and Apple, with the upshot that a month later the next release of Final Cut Pro (Version 3) came bundled with his FX software as standard. Volume Two was released worldwide in early 2002 and shortly afterwards Klaus returned once more to the US, this time to make a presentation at the New York DV Show.
